The 25th Northeast Pink and Chum

Topics & Call for Papers

Hello prospective 25th Northeast Pacific Pink and Chum Salmon Workshop attendees,

This is the FINAL Call for Abstracts and Registration.

We are getting close to the 25th Pink and Chum Salmon Workshop - 13-15 February in Juneau, Alaska.   Workshop attendance is currently at 68.  We currently have 48 contributions (talks & posters) and there is still 1 slot open for an oral presentation (better hurry!!) and plenty of room for more posters.  Consider sharing you research with others through a poster.   A list of current speakers & titles will be posted on the website within the week.

Early Registration extended to Friday, January 27thhttps://www.regonline.com/25thpinkchumworkshop

Last day to submit abstracts is Monday, January 23rd.

A few additional items about the meeting:
1) Alaska Airlines has offered us a 7% discount off any published fare between any US or Canadian city they serve and Juneau, Alaska, from 10 to 19 February 2012. Use discount code ECMJ21 when booking your flight.

2) An informal dinner gathering will be held at T.K. Maguire’s (the restaurant in the Prospector Hotel http://www.prospectorhotel.com/ ), before the poster session on the first evening of the meeting. Guests of the Prospector Hotel will receive a 15% discount coupon to use at T.K Maguire’s during this dinner gathering or at other times.

3) The North Pacific Anadromous Fisheries Commission (NPAFC) recently held an international workshop titled "Explanations for the High Abundance of Pink and Chum Salmon and Future Trends": http://www.npafc.org/new/events/workshops/workshop2011/workshop_home.html.
The principal organizer and chairperson of the NPAFC meeting, Dr. Richard Beamish (Pacific Biological Station, DFO, Canada), has graciously agreed to be our keynote speaker at the Pink and Chum Salmon Workshop.

4) To encourage student participation at the meeting, student registration fees are considerably discounted. We hope to promote student contributors for the evening poster session in particular.
