Transportation From the Ketchikan
Airport
The Ketchikan
International Airport is located on Gravina Island, which is a short
ferry ride across Tongass Narrows from town. The airport ferry costs
$4 one way, so be sure to have some cash on hand when you arrive in
Ketchikan. Unfortunately, the Cape Fox Lodge does not have a courtesy
van. The Ketchikan Airporter meets all arriving flights and can take
you from the airport to Cape Fox Lodge for $19 a person (one way). The
cost of the airport ferry is included in this price. A cheaper
alternative, especially for small groups, would be to call one of the
local taxi companies. A cab ride from the town side of the airport
ferry to the Cape Fox Lodge will cost approximately $13, which would be
about $3.25 each for a group of four. Usually, only one or two cabs are
waiting on the town side of the ferry, so it would be advisable to call
a cab from the airport prior to getting on the ferry. A pay phone is
available on the town side as well in case someone hijacks your cab.
